I was once asked why I do partial squats, and a wide array of people wholly incapable of duplicating my lifts talk shit about my insistence on doing partial squats.
If I can do 945 for 4 after a half hour of singles, you know what? Who gives a fuck why I do them- I do them because I fucking can.
They did give me a massive fucking pump, though.
Starting the lift from the bottom of the movement. Impressive. I'll give that a shot. I suppose it also avoids having to take the two-steps to rack and unrack the beast.

Jamie - I have another question in regards to keto dieting. Do you think its better to follow a keto diet for 5 days and then have the Friday Night- Saturday night carb up or do you think it's better to follow a 3 day keto 1 day carb - 2 day keto 1 day carb format? I am starting my 3rd week on a keto diet and I have used both methods so far. I have already dropped some fat and suprisingly my lifts have maintained and in some cases increased. I am currently a level 2 as described in the t-nation link you posted.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Frankly, it's really a matter of what works for you. I typically dislike the 24 hour period for my average carbup and find the multiple short cheat windows preferable. That stated, the 24 hour one is great for vacations and holidays, etc. At the end of the day though, there is no best way for everyone, but simply a best way for you.
ReplyDeleteCool - Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIts only been 2 weeks so Im sure there is a lot of room for changes but when I tried breaking up the carb/cheat days I felt like I was stronger in the gym but that fat loss was slow. The method where I use a keto diet for 5 days and then a 6th day carb up burns fat ridiculously fast but my lifts where stale in the gym. I did happen to PR on my deadlift w/ 455.
If you're hitting PRs, you're not stale, haha, but I agree- breaking them up is preferable in my book.
ReplyDeletePeople give you shit for that? Can the average person even move half that ... at all? HA!
ReplyDeleteAnother inch lower and you'll be squatting as low as Bud Jeffries in this vid.

I'm glad you didn't have a teenage boy run up to rub his junk in your face as a celebration.
There was quite a lot of fanfare from both him and his entourage for that lift ... and only once! LOL
ReplyDelete"I'm glad you didn't have a teenage boy run up to rub his junk in your face as a celebration." That was probably the funniest thing I've heard all day! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Jamie would prob just rub his junk in the camera lens to annoy the people on that site claiming he's obviously gay based on his Halloween picture HAHA
My god. That is one fat motherfucker. Well done on locking out 2x his BW though, haha.
ReplyDeleteI rub my junk in peoples' faces so that they can see what awesome tastes like.
Do you perform that special service before or after a training session? Some folks are on sodium restricted diets, you might want to consider their special needs when giving them gastronomy lessons.
ReplyDeleteJ.Ja
Hahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteCould you point someone in the right direction with regard to partial rep training?
