The End Draws Nigh...

The site is nearing completion over at Plague of Strength, so expect a redirect from this site as of this weekend.  The first article to drop looks like it'll hit this weekend and will be on pullups, followed by a more philosophical one, a full blown article on Scott "Boulder Shoulders" Wilson, and the occultist Michael W. Ford's interview (when it's complete).  I'll be dropping shit fast and furious!  And before you ask, everything is available on the new site but has mysteriously located itself under a single one of the dropdowns.  That'll be sorted this weekend, so articles will be far easier to search.

If you've got article ideas/requests, hit me with them in the comments.

And merch is inbound, for anyone who wants some far less hackneyed gym gear.  First shirt design that is in the works:

  1. I definitely am looking forward to some articles about chaos magic and training. The blog more or less advocates using chaos magic to enhance your training, but drawing a connection between the two explicitly would be interesting to read about.

Are you still competing with the Philadelphia Rhinos? I don't know anything about them but I see them on your FB. I was planning on going to see them fight earlier this year back hopefully to see you compete at the event, but this was right before you went on hiatus from the blog so it didn't work out. I don't know much about the sport, but it would be really interesting to see you write about your fitness and weight training regime for the sport. I am also interested in just reading about the sport in general, like what weapons are allowed, the advantages and disadvantages of different weapon combinations and battle tactics, etc.

I don't know how different you plan on making the new site from cnp, but I always enjoyed your book and movie recommendations. It would be interesting to hear you write about how your training has changed since the inception of this blog. You pretty much covered that on the hatecast, but I am sure plenty of people just read the blog and don't listen to the podcast or haven't listened to enough episodes to hear you cover that topic specifically.

I always enjoyed the training for the apocalypse articles. Discussion of things like that or strongman based training methods would be cool.

So those were my initial thoughts, looking forward to whatever you put out!

    1. I'm still awaiting a payout at work to purchase armor, but as soon as I have it, I'll be competing. I'm pumped for KnightFights, the show on History about the 1-on-1 ACL fights, which I will definitely be participating in. My training really isn't going to change beyond adding cardio- I have never done more than that for any sporty in which I've dcompeted, because strong is strong.

I'll definitely get an article on training evolution going- I noticed that a lot of the shit I said was gospel a decade ago is now dogshit, haha.

  2. New site looks amazing! And I like the categories, it will help quite a fucking lot to look for more specific stuff (or at least be four times as easy as it is to wade through hundreds decade old posts looking for one specific article).

On ideas/requests, some people on Youtube seemed to post videos about "Workouts that almost killed me" (ex: Brian Alsruhe /watch?v=jKZ_6k06t94). Seeing as you tend towards some much more extreme workouts on a regular basis, I think it would be interesting to know about what you would consider to be your most insane workouts

    1. Thanks man, and that's a good idea. I wouldn't mind giving some of those workouts a shot and reviewing them as well, haha.

  3. Ever since you started writing about lifting and Chaos Magick, I've been running my own experiments with combining the two. I've had some great results, especially the part where I've managed to piss off every Occultist I know, and most of the lifters. If they can't fucking stand me, then I must be doing something right!

Also, you need to sell a shirt with the word "Heretic" across the front, similar to the Hooligan shirt.

    1. Hahaha- that is definitely happening. It's literally at the top of the list.

Weird that it has everyone pissed off. Occultists seem to be pussies, by and large, haha.

  5. Training methods, diets and credos of martial artists, ancient/medieval warriors. I find this thing the most inspiring. Also really enjoyed your articles on history of wrestling, paleo/keto, stew madness, and preparing for the apocalypse. Your "rant'n'motivate" articles like Stemming the tide... is fantadtic as well.
Well, not much of actual ideas here, just keep up the good work, i'm all eyes and ears Jamie!

  6. I second the above. Maybe go as far as seeing your take on some obscure, historical bad asses too. A profile on Craig Monson would be cool too.

  7. Just one more day and all of Steve's comments will be gone for good!

  8. thank fuck blob

I'm sad to see the site go, but I guess all good things must come to an end. I'll read pretty much anything you write, but anything dealing with lifting and martial arts would definitely pique my interest. I know longevity isn't specifically your cup of tea, but any interest in writing on that? I've seen many studies say muscle and strength are keys to aging well, and that upping older people's protein intake has beneficial effects on quality of life. I'm young, but it's not too early to start thinking about some of this shit.

  9. Is your new site going to have censorship / pre approval of the comments section? You know, like Carter's 'Lift, Bum, Bang" site where you can't leave a comment saying he's a faggot unless he ok's it first.

  11. Why cant i post a comment on the new blog? It just disappears after i push the button post it. Am i retarded??

    1. Yes to the second question, but also, Jamie will probably only now allow comments now that don't hurt his fragile ego. So no "you fucking roider" or "remember that gay porno you did" type of stuff will be shown, so I imagine.

    2. Fuck that. If I can't shame Jamie for his gay porn shoot, why even visit the new site?

  12. Lol! Found this in the comments of the new web site. Written by a person called "Nick", otherwise known as "Jamie Lewis"

Love the new site and I am always greatful for your content. Is there any plan for something such as a patreon that we, as the grateful reader, can contribute to directly? I’ve literally read, and reread, the entire chaos and pain blog and would like to give back in some way."

  13. No topic is exploding more than the Nofap/Noporn concepts right now. I’ve seen plenty of people refer to your site when defending those topics. Your previous articles were great but if you focus on these topics again in the future you will grab a lot of attention to your site.
