Paul and I are back with a new round of bullshit. This cast basically focused on two things- the movie the Raid and the fact that most people are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole when they adopt a program. Frankly, it's a pretty good bit of conversation. Additionally, we briefly touched on the Bud Dwyer suicide video, which is pretty awesome if you haven't seen it. Dude got popped for embezzling from the city of Philadelphia while he was (I believe) a city councilman, then shot himself of the news.

Also, Ion Dissonance has an awesome song called the Bud Dwyer Effect that I uploaded here in case you want to watch this with a soundtrack.

Coming up this week: a new Baddest Motherfuckers entry and part two of the India series.
Fuck. That Dwyer vid is brutal.
ReplyDeletedude, you need to interrupt paul more often. that was fucking hilarious :D.
ReplyDeleteWell I have been shamed in front of the entire Chaos an Bang community - I am the fool using 5/3/1 for Strongman! I'm glad I've been called out though because I only decided to do the competition a week ago so I haven't ruined my chances. If anyone can help me create a new Strongman routine I'd be glad of the help.
ReplyDeleteNow you understand the reasoning behind my incredulity. You didn't have to out yourself though, bro, haha.
Deletehah thanks for the suicide vid, brightened my day right up
ReplyDeleteThink nothing of it. I'm all about being a warm little ball of sunshine.
Delete"Programming" question for you, Jamie. I like the feel of lots of singles and doubles in the squat. Obviously you're a big fan as well. My problem is, I've always worked with some anticipatory framework for loading and volume and I can't gauge very well how to progress with singles and doubles, especially with nothing under 80%. Five pounds adds up quick in that range. How do you chose weight and volume for the day and keep making the progress you do? Excellent total by the way man. How the fuck are the rest of us supposed to compete with that? You make me want to pack it in and take a bullet to the chest.
ReplyDeleteI go entirely by feel and always have. Percentages just provide a rough guideline.
DeleteMAN from Nowhere has the best knife fight scene imo, and the movie's awesome too
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually shocked by the shit you post on this blog, but that video was sick. Maybe a warning for the even vaguely sensitive might be good.
ReplyDeleteWhat was that song at the beginning?
ReplyDeleteBreak stuff by limp didn't.
ReplyDeleteNice picture.
ReplyDeleteBud Dwyer. The blood just kept coming.
-I thought the Judges sidearms in Dredd 3D were kind of silly where the different kinds of ammo had to be voice activated. They should just have to press a selector button or something.
-Thought the exploding heads in Expendables 2 was pretty cool.
Jason Statham. Best line: "I declare you man..and knife."
-Terry Crews was pretty funny when he was talking about getting a pump from having to hold that door open. I think i was the only person that laughed at that.
Beagle with a 50lb bag of dogfood....I had a beagle and one time it got at some chocolate chip bags, dog ended up puking chocolate all over the house.
"Deliberate practice can be unpleasant." I'll remember that.
