I Made The "News"

Thought I'd repost this from www.powerliftingwatch.com for you guys.  Sadly, my information on rankings was inaccurate- when they posted my ranking today, they also posted Jamie McDougal's 1603 total from three weeks ago.  As such, I am the aggregate king, but not the total king.  Alas.  In any event:

Jamie Lewis Hits 1600 Raw @ 181!

At the recent APA Power Frenzy held November 5th 2011, Jamie did something that no other US lifter has done since raw become popularized in the mid 90's! In fact, no one has done it since 1973 (that was the only year that wraps were not allowed and suits hadn't been invented). Jamie went 1600 with out wraps! Heck he didn't even wear a belt, just a pair of TK neoprene knee sleeves! He started out his day with a 605 3rd attempt squat but took 615 on a 4th for new APA record. He then went 355 in the bench and pulled 640 in the dead to officially total 1600. He also took a 4th attempt in the pull by yanking 655! His total aggregate for the day was 1625 for an APA record. However, for ranking purposes 1600 is his official total. He is now ranked #2 in the current raw rankings and his 615 squat is #1. His 655 pull is ranked #5
Sadly, Joanna Angel was not in attendance.

  1. Completely awesome. I'm sure the guys that compete with a forklift and shit tons of other accessories don't know what to make of this.

  2. Congrats dude! Fucking smoked it. Goals for next meet?

  3. Goal for next meet is >1700 lb total and >650 lb squat. World records FTW.

  4. Imperator said it. Break both of Bob McKee's records. I'm on the roster for Raw Unity 2012, and will likely be reverse gripping the bench, haha, just to add to the insanity. To fund that trip, I'm going to be converting the entire blog to a pdf that I'm going to edit the holy hell out of and reorder. That way all of the training shit will be in one spot, the nutrition will be in another, then Mental, Misc, and finally Baddest Motherfuckers. The pdf will (hopefully) be available next week and will include the final installment of the Predator Diet and the meet prep. They'll be $15, and that money's going to prep, travel, registration, etc. I'll get those blogs online shortly thereafter, but I might strip em down or something to boost sales.

One request- I'm pricing this thing cheap so you guys will buy it, because I need the loot for the meet. In return, you'll get the book, me wrecking shit at the meet, and a hell of a lot more content, since I'll use the remainder for research books.

This is me not selling out and asking you guys to help me out a bit without getting donations. The book will be worth it. I assure you.

  7. Hell yea man ! I'm down for a CnP book, just to know there is going to be someone rocking a "WTF" look at the meet.

    Keep it up Dude.

  8. This is one of the best strength/fitness blogs out there. Extremely entertaining, informative, and completly goes against the grain regarding the usual advice given by most fitness "experts". Hell yes I will be buying a pdf to support this blog and to support you tearing shit up at the meet.

  9. What the hell, maaaaaannnnnnn. Turns out you're just another cog in the corporate machine.

In all seriousness, I've been reading your blog for 2 years now, and you've gave away for free what plenty of other people would have charged money for already, so fuck yeah I'll buy the PDF.

  10. yes, I might buy your crappy .pdf when it comes out but only if you ADD ME ON FACEBOOK...

  11. I'll buy it for the support, but for fuck's sake, don't make it Paypal only. I live in Belgium, I have a Visa and I don't want to deal with Paypal maffia.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah, me too. I concur what Tuplad said, not only paypal. I rather pay with visa.. Another thing. You talked band crossovers on your "I Think This Is Officially Middle Aged- Random Shit I've Learned"-post. I'm interest also them, (even/more so) if they are somewhat unorthodox exercises. As you seem to do things different than the other lifters. I can see value of your insight for 15$.

  14. Congratulations!

Will absolutely buy the book, I've been bugging you about it for a long time - and T SHIRTS.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Will buy. An off-topic question, why did you work the military presses with high(er) reps?

    ReplyDelete
  16. oh yea id rather buy a tshirt than an acrobat of a bunch of shit i already read for free years ago

    ReplyDelete
  17. And also, $15? I understand you're wanting to keep it cheap, but shit man, that's an understatement. The amount of asshats online writing an ebook on any subject under the sun and charging $30 a pop are legion, and you're giving far better material away for far less. Not complaining mind you.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I have already read this entire blog but i will send some cash just to see you smash the shit out of the 181 class.

  19. Working backwards,

If you buy the book, you'll fund the shirts as well. I'm hoping to sell at least 100 of them, which will put ~$1500 in my pocket after paypal/visa, and everyone else siphon their cut. With that, I'll throw $500 at tshirts and hoodies. The hoodies will be VERY first come first serve, and I'm not getting a lot of them. Also, I get the first one, haha. I'll snatch up however many tshirts I can with the remainder, and will even snag a few smalls for the three women who read this blog. Thus, buy the book, fund the tshirts, and avoid having to pay $35 for a fucking tshirt, plus shipping, from zazzle. Everyone wins.

The price point is set because 1) I'm not those fucking guys, and 2) because this is more of a you help me out and I'll keep helping you out thing. As I said before, I'm not in this to get rich, and I don't have a lot of respect for those who are- you do that shit and you have to dilute your message and dumb down your content. I love the fact that you people exist, and I'm not going to fuck over my audience to make a buck.

In re military presses, they're a volume addition. I can't hit 300+ on them, so I figure I might as well use them to fill out workouts. I usually throw a single or tow in there, as I love my singles. That's not the focus though.

In re band crossovers, there's not a lot to say. I started doing them when my arm was casted and I couldn't do anything else, and I liked them. Just take the bands from the powerlifters and loop them around the uprights in the cable behemoth (where you'd do crossovers with the cables) and off you go.

As for the VISA/Paypal thing, it looks like I can use Google checkout as well as paypal. Hopefully that will suffice. If not, email me at chaos_and_pain@yahoo.com and we'll just do a fucking bank transfer. Having lived in Europe, I know you guys love that shit. If you fuckers weren't difficult, you'd likely not read this blog anyway, haha.

In short- buy the book and you get records smashed, thsirts and hoodies created, and more content. It's win-win. You win, and then you win again.

If I sell enough of them, we'll see about starting a boarding party (what anyone else would consider a team) or something with leftover loot, go to paid shows, clean house, drink all of their liquor, and have the first clothing optional afterparty in the history of strength sports.

  20. Jamie, I think that's a great idea with the books and the shirts and hoodies. Have an original PR or ER shirt and the bike riding nazi can suck my dick. APA Raw nationals are in Defuniak next year and I have a place for you to stay instead of paying for a shitty hotel around here. I won't compete in any meet Bobby or Carol Mann put on for obvious reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Werd. Dunno how much competing I'll be doing after the RAW Unity, but I'll bear it in mind. I was considering trying to cut to 175 for the hardcore meet in Seattle in March, but 181 in Florida sounds much better, although there's no cash prizes, haha. Shoot me an email and we'll stay in touch- chaos_and_pain@yahoo.com

  22. You made me proud, Jamie. I was waiting for the day where you set records like this and show those pussies from the internet forums how much they suck for talking down your training philosophy. SUCK IT, MAGGOTS!

I will definately buy your book. Now excuse me, I gotta go and lift something heavy...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Major respect for keeping the price reasonable on the book. Looking forward to it!

  24. makes sense, you can count on my steel...

  25. nowadays, do you do the pendlay rows as in your past videos, really vertical, or from the floor and more horizontal (as they are supposed to do)?

  27. Congratulations!
I would be honored to help you go kick ass, so I call dibs on one of those small t-shirts.

  28. Never posted before, but starting reading the blog over a year ago to cleanse my mind from all the shit you have to read for personal training certs.

Hell yes I'll buy a chaos and pain book. And I agree with the above. Paypal can drown slowly in an ocean somewhere. Much rather just pay with a card.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Visa would be appriciated, I don't like paypal sniffing around in my bankaccount.

I've got around 20 articles for you down the line, hope your inbox can handle it.
I'll send them over the course of the week, depends a bit on my ability to be behind the screen as I'm testing my new patiënts in my study.

  30. Thanks, guys.

K- The bent rows I used to do weren't Pendlay rows.

  31. Paypal, Visa, whatever the fuck you want to use, consider that pdf sold. And make sure that both your T-shirts and hoodies are available in XXL; some of us faithful minions actually shop in the men's clothing department, HA HA.

Oh yeah, and FUCK Robert Taylor, that fucking DNF-Douchebag. Seriously, who the fuck promotes their ability to DNF triathlons and quote others as to himself being a has-been. I can't stand the fact that the PR-or-ER on the back of my two old CnP t-shirts (which I wear until they are stiff with sweat and chalk) now represents that anal-retentive cum-guzzler.

Well done you psychotic viking; I can't wait to see you break a world record using a reverse grip for bench! And good luck on getting to 175lb; that's gonna suck.

  32. I've never read such sycophantic cock sucking on one web page in my life. What a bunch of sad losers you all are, ha ha ha ha ha!!!! "Ooh Jamie you're SO fucking cool, please let me buy something from you, maybe with your picture n it so i can wank over it", HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Fucking losers!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Speaking of PR or ER, I am sure 1 or 2 enterprising Asians are interesting in making it that are not afraid of copyright infringement. Not that you would ever consider doing something like that...

  34. too bad I can't get cec 's out of the ebook. although Armageddon is near if mainstram training certificates ever endorse or teach your methods...

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hahaha. I have far too little regard for lawyers and far too much interest in being awesome for you to get cec's out of anything I'll ever produce.

    Ramon- I'm listening...

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm not a lawyer, but just from reading the PR or ER trademark document on USPTO, the trademark is only viable in the field of endurance training, and not valid for other fields. Maybe if you filed PR or ER as the brand of your clothing, Then under trademark law no one else can print PR or ER on their cloth, therefore stick it to Dr. whatever his name is. It'll cost you some money to file for trademark, but I think might be worth it just for spite. Any lawyers in the audience might want to look into this. It's just my wild thought.
