Festival of Pain- Friday at Iron Sport

I'll be in Philly this week, and what with a pack of you being from that area, I thought I might extend an invitation to hit up some sort of a lengthy, painful, chaotic workout.  Anyone who wants to, comment and/or email me, and we'll work out a suitable time.  No doubt this thing will metamorphosize into an impromptu odd lifts competition, and afterwards I'd imagine we'll all grab food and drinks.  I'm thinking Friday should work for everyone, so comment it up and we can see if a consensus of some sort can be reached.
I'm not promising horse lifting, but I'll see if it can be arranged.

  1. Wish I lived in Philly. Hit me up when you decide to visit dear Old Blighty.

Horse lifting... How I long for the days of carefree attitudes towards health and safety and so called "animal cruelty". I bet that horse is having a swell time up there, resting his legs, his face all warm in that tight canvas mask thing...

  2. I'll second that invite to England.

  4. What time at Iron sport?

  5. If there is no horse lifting, I suggest we try lifting Jamie for rep.

If you're ok with that off course.

  6. Jamie,

not sure how long you're in Philly, but on Sunday Night, Abandon All Ships is playing with Miss May I at First Unitarian Church.

  7. I've got to roll out in the evening on sunday, so i won't be able to hit that show. As for the time, I was thinking afternoon sometime. I always end up down there for a couple of hours whenever I lift.

  8. You should film that workout! Blog needs new videos!

  9. Jamie, check this out. This bro might even need his own post. He gives the old Marine Corps adage 'SuperFats' (i.e. a fat guy who could DO the shit) a whole new meaning. Be hell on the wrestling mat. Best, m

  10. D300's trainings don't really fall in line with anything related to C&P, since his training seems to be mostly composed of a hell of a lot of pushups and then whatever weird bodyweight shit he feels like doing.

    ReplyDelete
  11. ...did I really type out "trainings don't"?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Dray, you fucking hillbilly talking bastard.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Dray, I guess you're right. Nothing about strength is related to C&P. It's all about weak weird bodyweight stuff that you can do at 300+ pounds. The (relatively strict) curls with 225 and shrugs with whateverthefuck must have just been warmups to the 'hell of a lot of pushups and then whatever weird bodyweight shit he feels like doing' (that all of us ripped motherfuckers that ain't fat and weak at 135 can do?). Watch the vid kid.

  14. And while i'm at it Dray, suck my dick. I don't need your fucking opinion. I'd consider Jamie and me friends now, I know MY comments will always be welcome on here - not so sure about YOU.

  15. Hey Jamie! I found that article on T-nation about the inmates who do powerlifting. Link:

    http://www.t-nation.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance_investigative/training_behind_bars_i

Apparently, this guy (the one they interviewed) has competition lifts to the tune of a 810 Squat, 515 Bench, and 835 Deadlift.

    A bit from the interview:

"He broke down his weekly program for me with detail. He didn't have a journal; he just remembered it from routine:

    Monday: Legs, abs

Tuesday: Chest, tri's, bi's (no direct forearm work)

    Wednesday: Deadlifting and back

    Thursday: Shoulders

Friday: High rep training for legs and chest

    Saturday: Bodyweight-only day plus abs"

"He was in favor of doing 4-5 sets of seven reps for most exercises, unless it was one of the three powerlifts. If he was squatting or deadlifting, he was doing sets with rep ranges from 1-7.

Since he competed for the prison powerlifting team as a powerlifter, his goals were to get as strong as possible, period. His lifts were all done with heavy weights. Anything above seven reps to him was a waste of time. Anything that wasn't a basic move was a waste of time.

It was all about heavy squats (front and back), heavy deads from the ground or the rack, seated military presses, heavy shrugs, heavy curls with bars and dumbbells, heavy lying extensions with the straight bar, and heavy rowing. Even his lateral raises were done with 50-80 pounds for sets of seven."

"He did reserve Friday for moderate reps and weights in the 8-15 range though. This got me talking about max effort training, repeated effort, dynamic effort, etc. but he didn't know what any of that meant. He looked at me funny and said, "No man, just go heavy." He was a simple man, no complications, no changing rep tempo, and no bullshit.

Countless guys try to train with him he said, but he blows them all away. They hang for two or three weeks and then drop. His workouts are a way of life. He enjoys helping others get strong as well. He wanted to share his knowledge with other inmates if they were up for it, but he mentioned most of them stray away quickly due to the difficulty of his program.

I'd heard about inmates doing Zercher squats and I asked him about it. "No, man," he said, "just squat heavy. There's no reason to do that stuff."

  16. Dray and Jamie, the above's again not me. What a weird way to get kicks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hahaha, nothing weak about D300, no. But while he does lift weights, and lift fairly heavy weights, I've only ever seen the cheat curls (which are definitely very much cheat curls) and the shrugs, which I think a bunch of motherfuckers in the comments estimated was 800 pounds. Not too bad to rep out with, but I don't think cheat curls, shrugs and light benching = C&P. And on checking his youtube page, he does do leg presses.

Also, on the topic of the weird bodyweight stuff, I'm talking more about the silly things that he does with exercises, such as taking a few buckets and putting his feet on two to do pushups with his head on either side of the third (??????), or the pullups cycling with the knees in front of his body (although all the bartendaz seem to enjoy doing that).

I also would like to post his youtube since I've actually been a fan since I was trying to be a hurf durf bodyweight specialist myself: http://www.youtube.com/user/D3hundred

And I doubt many people here can hang with him in pushups if none of the bodyweight specialists that he works out with on a regular basis can.

    ReplyDelete
  18. All this bartendaz shit is racis, black people don't spend all their time swinging from bars and holla'in at they homies. They are clearly crackaz in body paint trying to send racial equality back a hundred years. Peace.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Whew, fucking mouthful.

Just noting, I wasn't really saying that D300 isn't relevant to C&P, but rather just that the training of a bodyweight specialist doesn't fall in line with C&P lifting philosophies.

And the next link is him lifting weights.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eTUWf23HUQ

    Okay, that's all.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dray, I tend to agree with you. He's definitely about the reps. Some of it seems almost like extreme break dancing or something. Interesting stuff, though. And, yes, a strong guy.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Black people are building each other up and white people are tearing each other down.

While the white boys are ripping each other to shreds in comment wars over whether or not somebody's 225 bench press used good enough form, the numb diggers in every ghetto are building up to literal gorilla strength.

Way to go, white race. Thank you for reminding me once again why I gave up on racism.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I suppose "Chaos and Pain" as a system of working out is open to interpretation. To me it's more about using your own instinct to determine volume and intensity moreso than what your favourite exercises might be, what you use for resistance or what sets and reps you choose to do. Either way, D300 is definitely thinking outside of the box and that's good enough. I doubt if he got that strong by reading/arguing about what he should do on the Internet.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous - say whatever you want about blacks vs whites, i know i'd out think a nigger any day of the week. That's not racism, just fact. I even saw a program on the Discovery channel recently, showing why blacks brains HAVE to be smaller than whites. Their skulls are much thicker that humans, thus leaving less space inside. I believe they said somthing similar was going on with ginger people.

  24. You should talk like that in real life. Around here guys like you end up with their shoes hanging from the phone wires.

  26. That wasn't me, Glen.

  27. Mayo, I don't know you, but I think we all knew it wasn't you, and for once, I agree with Glen.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Re: Fake Mayo

Racial anthropology is true, yeah. There is a hierarchy of physical and mental quality of human beings, and the very top of every totem pole is occupied uncontestably by white nordics.

...However, that doesn't change the fact that whites suck at behaving in pack fashion. The fact that whites spend so much of their time arguing on the internet like little faggots is perfect illustration for this. They can know all the calculus and chemistry they want, but if they can't cooperate they aren't worth a shit. They're a herd of cats, and your behavior demonstrates that you're part of that cat herd.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I don't really spend much time arguing online Glen, I'd just followed a lot of the bartendaz videos for a short while in figuring out if I wanted to do similar work as that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I definitely second the motion about videoing the training session!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Actually anonymous, I AM the real Mayo - some trolloing asshole thinks he needs to appologise for me every time i write anything controversial. Fuck you troll. If i've learnt anything from this place, it's that i can speak my fucking mind and know MOST you guys agree with me. For instance, i love what Hitler did. Shocked? Then fuck you!! And i certainly don't need to apologise to any "strawberry blondes" writting on here. ie, a certain North American (Canadian) mothafucka.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mayo, do you also parade in front of the mirror in your mother's panties when she's at a dinner party?

    ReplyDelete
  33. These comments are getting fucking pathetic, and I've been reading your site from a good while back. That an invite to lift weights leads into racist crap whilst pretending to be other posters suggests to me that, although you may not like censorship, some form of moderation surely has to be put in place. I'm all for giving a voice to the masses, but not when they continually hide behind the names of others. Either post with an original name, or don't post.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Right on. Then again, you are appealing to a guy that used a genocide photo to make a point, because he was "o.k. with it", but you make a valid point.

    ReplyDelete
  35. He never should have changed that picture just because you soft fucks got your little feelings hurt about it. No one should ever give in to the demands of screen names. It only makes them whine even more.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Glen, for a self styled Internet tough guy, you bitch, moan and whine, more than a teenage girl.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hahahaha Glen you condemn people and call them "soft" for being offended when people make jokes about genocides in which millions of innocent people were slaughtered. But you act like a complete emotional twat and get bent out of shape when a few people joke about some 17 year old cunt who is too weak minded to take a little bit of shit. Simply because you jerk off thinking about her while wallowing in self hatred. There is nothing more "soft" than a captain save a hoe. That is some punk bitch type of shit my man!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Your last two comments just show how soft you are. I'm going to call you Porridge from now on because you're so soft. I'm glad I hurt your feelings, Porridge.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Keep telling yourself that cupcake! Your legendary wit seemed to escape you on that last comment. For the record I don't give a fuck about genocide in fact I think we should round up all you Canadians and obliterate you from this earth. But sticking up for some worthless slut is still pussy my friend and you know it.

  40. Captain save a ho

  41. G-mac would eat you alive and you know it.

Mayo - in a perfect world I would self-describe as a Nazi. My issue with mainstream racism, i.e. stormfront and seemingly the vast majority of other racist sites, is that they focus on others. If your race exists based on exclusion of other races, it's a shitty race. If it was a good race, it would build itself up in isolation, getting stronger, faster, taller, smarter, committing eugenics within the group, making its own advances in the world.

I may be wrong, but I do not get the impression that your variety of racism is like this. It seems to be more about arbitrarily loving white people, even though as a broad group they suck. Accepting the shit-tier whites unconditionally on the premise of "inherent quality by whiteness" is the same as forcing the rest of society to accept darkies on the basis of "inherent equality."

That's what I don't like about the majority of racism, and that's what I don't like about you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Well, clearly there's two Mayos as the two people posting as Mayo type completely differently. Do I give two fucks which Mayo is the first Mayo? No. I don't have any reason to. As it stands, one of the Mayos is a fairly annoying troll and the other is a perfectly reasonable guy. Am I sure which is which? No, not really.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I get a kick out of how often Glen thinks it's the same guy giving him shit, or that the guy is a "kid"... They say "even a broke clock is right, twice a day", but not Glen! Thanks, Bud, you provide endless laughter!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Endless laughter? The guy is a complete tool. If he's so smart, why can't he figure out why his parents abandoned him?

    ReplyDelete
  45. What makes me laugh (or more like mild, short-term amusement) is that you seem to think I give a shit. Obviously there's more than one of you fucktards but if you're all going to use the same name I'm going to treat you all like you're the same kid. If that makes you feel smarter than me it's because you're a fucking moron who doesn't actually know what it feels like to be smart.
I doubt if I was the only one who thought it was pathetic of you to stalk and harass Christine. Nor was I the only one to say so. Grasp at another straw, kiddo.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow, Glen, these "kids" are really dogging you, huh? Could it be because you are a fuck-tard? Like a little puppet on a string: jump puppet, jump!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Glen, do you practice sounding this dumb, or is it natural?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Glen, who is Christine and why are you mentioning her? Is she your wife?

    ReplyDelete
  49. You young guys don't seem to understand how online communication works. Someone posts something, someone else responds. You're actually sitting there getting a sense of power from this? What a loser.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hahaha, the anonymous trying to troll Glen are getting more and more pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm Spartacus!

    ReplyDelete
  52. It's interesting how Glen keeps going back to this "younger guy" position. Glen, call me at the office, we need to talk.
    Sincerely
    S. Freud

    ReplyDelete
  53. Actually, that WOULD explain his anger issues.

    ReplyDelete
  54. No I'M Spartacus!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Glen, you recently revealed that you chose your profession in order to stay employed in the event of a socio-economic collapse, zombie invasion, etc. I'm wondering, did you reveal to your employer that you are a genius, but would prefer to be a shop donkey, saving your intellect to battle trolls on the internet? Could you elaborate?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Jamie, I am sorry for all the annoying trolling I have been doing the last couple of months. I apologise, and if you give me a call, I will suck your dick.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Shop donkey. HA HA

    ReplyDelete
  58. NO, I AM Spartacus!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Zombie invasion, huh? Whatever you say, Porridge.

    ReplyDelete
  60. As I recall, you pretty much outlined a portion of "World War Z" in your explanation. I was just hoping to hear more. Sorry if I caught you on at a bad moment.

    ReplyDelete
  61. This guy probabaly couldn't lift that much. But he reminds me of the 'artist as an old man.' In short, he reminds me of Jamie. And that's a real compliment. I would hope he would remind me of all of us. God bless and Enjoy . . .
