SHAKE THE FUCKING GROUND

One arm deadlifts.  Goerner made them famous, and set a mark nearly impossible to achieve.  As such, I decided to embark upon a road to victory, with one arm deadlifts as my benchmark.  This is what yesterday produced.
LET'S SHAKE THE FUCKING GROUND!  AND TEAR THIS MOTHER DOWN!

Stop fucking around and lift some weight already.  You want form tips?  LIFT IT OFF THE FUCKING GROUND AND SHUT THE FUCK UP.  Get at it, motherfuckers.

  1. Was Goerner a fucking pussy and used straps? For fucks sake! Surprised you're not wearing gloves and fucking leg warmers.

  2. Hahaha. If that was Stuart McRobert, he'd have needed a nap and 12 spotters.

    DADDY FUCKING GOT IT.

  3. Hilarious. But awesome at the same time.

  4. holy shit.

    Nicely done.

  5. What's the point of doing this if you use straps? Is the strain on one half of your back really that much greater than that of a two-handed deadlift?

  6. Hahaha, great job man.Anyway it's also a good exercise for the grip if you lift no-straps.Now Break this fucking floor! \m/

I imagine the point is that Jamie can, and he enjoys doing them. Also, something must be different to conventional deads, otherwise Jamie would be pulling far more than 405.

Nice lift Jamie, fair distance to go before you match Goerner though ;)

  8. i dont know what compels you motherfuckers to cry foul on his strap. hes probably lifting your fucking max with 1 hand.

  9. Wassup goons! Now i'm back off vacation, i'll be putting my own one arm deadlift video on my blog. Using bean cans and a broom handle.

  10. I can do a one arm pressup - right after a zumba class!! I love you Jamie. I'm your biggest fan. Sometimes i cut myself when i think of you.

  11. I would be much more impressed if you emulated Goerner for his mustache instead.

  12. Bean cans and a broom handle, huh? On my worst day I'm stronger than you'll ever be in your prime if you ever even reach one.

I can't even begin to fathom what it must be like to be addicted to a hobby that you're absolutely just no good at whatsoever. What if your hobby was origami? Would you stick with it for years and search the Internet tirelessly for the "secrets" despite never making any significant improvements?

Imagine walking into an origami class and there are kids sitting at all the tables with all these elaborate shapes in front of them. And then there's you off in the corner mumbling about how you could be making hats and swans too if hadn't been born with less than favourable genetics and used performance-enhancing drugs.

  13. what a douche, always talking about how manly you are and you go and do that with straps. Use less weight and grow a fucking grip, dumbass. You don't want to have child-like hands and forearms for you r entire life, do you?

"As far as deadlifts, my back cramps horribly, as I've mentioned, when I deadlift heavy. Additionally, I couldn't train without straps because I've bent all of the bars in my gym into a U shape, and they're all bereft of knurling. Thus, I stuck to a shitload of heavy grip work, squatting, cleans and high pulls, and shrugging."

  15. Gleneth, you need your own blog. You go on as if we actually care what you think.

Jamie, all these fucking clowns are talking shit about the straps and how it must be because of this, that or the other reason, yet none of them have posted a link to THEIR one arm deadlifts. Well, I incidentally tried them yesterday after my workout and goddamn(!), what a difficult fucking excercise. Well done, that 405 is diesel!

  19. Holy fucking shit, I have never seen so much whining about fucking STRAPS. (Actually that's not true, any youtube video with straps in it gets 100 faggots whining.)

If Jamie's doing grip work I don't see any problem with him using straps on any deadlift ever.

PPS-- Jamie, can i suck your cock?

  21. You can suck mine Chris. At least it'll taste like part of Jamie.

  22. Anonymous, it's pretty obvious you care what I think. There has been too many occasions to count now where I wouldn't have commented at all if you hadn't already commented using my name first. Look at the bullshit right above me here. Pretending to be van Jaarsveld, then pretending to be Dray right after, all for the sake of projecting your little closet fag fantasies. Face it; you're a goof and, deep down, you already know this.

  23. Jamie, great antics. You gotta keep that shit up; maybe even develp a C&P tribal celebration. Like that Icelandic guy a few blogs back. Reminded me of John Belushi from the old Saturday Night Live. Beautiful.

  24. FYI, Chris Van Jaarsveld, if you want your T-shirt sooner bitch at J.James at chaosandpain.com as according to his blogger profile he mails them out.

    I think that's him anyways...

  25. Chris- it's on its way to South Africa presently.

As for the Great Strap Debate, I am crushed. Does this mean I can't join Diesel Crew? Damn! Since when did deadlifting become a fucking grip exercise?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Since the Internet convinced every dweeb that he's a lifter despite the fact that they were all gym class jokes when they were kids and have the work ethics of second generation Welfare bums. That's when.

Suck at lifting weights? That's okay. Just become obsessed with "functional" training and find fault in everything anyone does better than you do.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You should have used a fat bar wrapped in a towel with a thumbless overhand grip. Then, you could have done a set of 'blob' lifts and plate pinches (because you've probably closed all of your numerous Capt. of Crush grippers)... Having a strong grip is way better than having a strong body.
All joking aside- I do get sick of hearing about all of the emphasis on grip strength on the Internet. I guess people think your hand goes limp as soon as you put on straps and lift the weight with the weight hanging from your wrist(s)...

    ReplyDelete
  28. *Omit "numerous" in the 3rd sentence.
    It's redundant.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Straps or not anyone who saw his numbers at that meet knows that his grip is by no means weak or undertrained. I'm not trying to ride Jamie's nuts but he deadlifts well over 3x bodyweight raw... so he can't exactally have a weak grip.

So why do this lift? The same reason he does every other lift like this... for the fuck of it. To show strenght on lifts hardly anyone does.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Grip guru's hate straps, because they are too busy jerking off with a pinch grip all the fucking time to lift any heavy weight off the ground with their sticky fingers.Fucking internet trolls!

    ReplyDelete
  31. "Jerking off with a pinch grip". Classic!

    ReplyDelete
  32. You guys are easy to tweak, especially Glen. Then again, it's easy to control a man with a weak mind.
Couple of jerk-off's mention the strap issue, and now it's a barage of "attack the strap guys"
Calm down, go tighten your jocks.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lmao, you're deadlifting 1.5x my max with one hand.

    BRB, crying.

    ReplyDelete
  34. One armed deadlifts aren't functional unless you do them on a bosu ball.

    ReplyDelete
  35. hey jamie, write an article about your grip training cus is damn impresive how you can pull that much, in a meet when you use straps in training, i say it cus, i once used straps for along peiod of time and i did screw my grip

    ReplyDelete
  36. In my experience, a double overhand grip with straps is the same as a mixed grip using chalk.

Easily controlled, am I? Do you even understand how the Internet works? You post something and other people respond. You're pretending to be me, why shouldn't I respond? Go back to being shitty at lifting now.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I covered grip training a bit in my contest prep blog, but I can make it a bit more comprehensive if you guys want. Frankly, doing shrugs with between 800 and 1000 lbs, even with the straps, works your grip plenty.

  38. Glen: I pull the string, you twitch. Like a puppet. Get it? It's funny that you think this is the same guy. It's not. You provide endless entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  39. And then I pull the string and you twitch and it goes back and forth. Get it? It's not funny because you're not a funny guy. You provide momentary yet forgettable entertainment.
